Bagot Park Speedway closed its doors permanently in 1981 to make way for urban development, prompting the local motorsport community to relocate to Hidden Valley. In May 1982, Northline Speedway officially held its inaugural race night at the newly created Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex. Over the decades, the speedway has hosted several major national titles, including the Australian Sprintcar Championship (1986, 1996) and Australian Sidecar Championships. It has evolved into a premier venue with modern arena lighting, terraced spectator viewing, and grassed mounds. The Chariots of Thunder Sprintcar Series is the signature event for the venue, attracting top-tier drivers from around Australia every September.
